MY 3 FAVORITE LECTURES!!

-The Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams "What does it mean to be broken?"

-During the semester, this was one of my favorite stories to read because I found the characters interesting.  In this fishbowl we discussed some words to represent what it means to be broken, some of my favorite words discussed was lost, shattered, and self-preservation especially for Blanche. We discussed how Blanche was specifically broken because of the false realities she would create and her denial of reality. What I took from this fishbowl is that many people hide behind false realities because they can't face the truth.

-Lecture on post-modernism.

What I learned from post-modernism is that everyone is different, and that everyone has their own perspective on the world which really intrigued me. We were able to see a lot of post-modernism in the short story Interpreter of Maladies where the characters have their own internal conflicts and were dealing with something in their point of view, as where the other characters can't tell. What I got from this lecture is that you should always try to learn other sides of the story because not everyone sees the world like you do.

-Antigone Character Adjectives

"Antigone" was one of my favorite stories and it was also the first story we read I believe. I liked doing the character charts because everyone was able to present their ideas and how they feel like the characters persona is. We would go on to give adjectives for the characters Creon, Ismene, and Antigone who all had different character traits. One of my favorite adjectives for Creon was ruthless because you could already tell what type of character he was before the end of the book.
